Skiff Life is a great web resource that celebrates the uniquely American pastime of inshore fishing and boating. In a world that continues to connect people digitally; there seems to be less time to connect with fishing buddies in person and enjoy the great outdoor pastimes of fishing and boating on skiffs or flats boats in shallow water.
From the far reaches of Alaska‘s great fishing grounds, to the New England Striper a.k.a. Striped Bass fishing grounds to South Florida chasing Tarpon, people enjoy the skiff life using flat bottom boats called skiffs or “flats boats“.
Skiff Life recently launched a massively successful Technical Forum called Trick My Skiff that features leading professionals in the boat building and repair industries who volunteer their time answering questions and sharing their latest builds to the inshore community, focused mostly around skiffs and flats boats. The group has become the de-facto place to go for questions pertaining to anything inshore flats boat related and even a heavily regulated Boats For Sale section, making sure there is no spam or junk like most boating and fishing groups. The group meets semi-annually and features a terrific showing of builders and professionals.
The community that has grown up around Skiff Life is a very active fishing community and their requirements for fishing apparel and gear is on the level of a combat troop in battle (many Skiff Life family are active duty and military veterans) with the wear and tear heavy, frequent fishing brings. Skiff Life fishing hats are made from the same material used by Military and Police by a company called Kryptek, manufacturer of tactical camo gear for professionals.
If you enjoy Living The Skiff Life, we’d recommend a visit to their main website at www.skifflife.com or their Online Store at www.skifflife.us to check out the latest fishing articles, skiff reviews, boats for sale and fishing gear.
As an added bonus make sure you check out the Skiffs We Like section, this features some amazing reviews of flats boats being build by today’s skiff builders.
